FAQ
Getting Started & Patterns
I’m a beginner. Are your patterns suitable for me?
Absolutely! My patterns are designed for all sewing levels, from confident beginners to seasoned stitchers. Many include step-by-step photos, clear instructions, and a free tutorial video to walk you through the process. Remember to check the Description on the pattern listing for my recommended skill level.
Can you help me resize your pattern?
Sorry, resizing is up to you! I choose my pattern dimensions very intentionally, and I don’t offer custom sizing support. You’ll find finished measurements listed in the pattern description so you can plan ahead.
Where can I find the video tutorials?
You can find all my free tutorials on YouTube, and they are also available on our website under Learn to Sew > Tutorial Videos.
How do I print your sewing patterns at home?
All of my printable sewing patterns are designed for easy at-home printing. Simply print at 100% scale (no resizing) and use the included test square to confirm accuracy. You can tape the pages together following the layout guide provided.

Orders & Downloads
I didn’t get an email with my download. What should I do?
If you’ve purchased one of my PDF sewing patterns and didn’t receive your download email, don’t panic—it usually just ends up hiding in your spam or promotions folder. You can also access your instant download sewing pattern directly from your order confirmation page right after checkout. If you’re still having trouble finding your files, send me a message and I’ll make sure you get access quickly so you can start sewing without the wait.
How do I access my PDF sewing pattern after purchase?
After purchasing, your PDF sewing pattern download will be delivered instantly via email, and you’ll also be able to access it from your order confirmation page. Be sure to download and save your files to your device so you can revisit them anytime you’re ready to sew your next project.
Do you sell paper patterns or just digital downloads?
All of my designs are digital sewing patterns (PDF downloads), not physical products. This means you get instant access to your pattern as soon as you purchase—no shipping delays, no extra costs. You can print your pattern at home, send it to a print shop, or use it digitally on a tablet, making it a flexible option for all types of sewists.
Do you accept returns or offer refunds on digital files?
Due to the nature of digital downloads, I don’t offer refunds or returns.
That said, I want you to be happy with your purchase, if you run into a problem, reach out and I’ll do my best to make it right.
Do you offer discounts on sewing patterns?
From time to time, I offer promotions, bundle deals, and special discounts on my digital sewing patterns. The best way to stay updated is by joining the email list so you don’t miss out.
Sewing Tips, Tools & Usage
What sewing machine do you recommend for beginners?
You don’t need a fancy setup to start sewing. A basic machine that can sew a straight stitch is more than enough for my beginner sewing patterns. I always recommend choosing something reliable and easy to use so you can focus on learning and enjoying the process. Ask friends and family to see if they have one you can borrow if you're not ready to commit to buying your own.
My favourite brand for beginner machines is Brother. But I've also used/owned Singer, Husqvarna, and Janome.
Should I prewash fabric before sewing?
The purpose of prewashing depends on what you're making and what you'd like the outcome to look like. For example, If you're making a garment then prewashing is important so it won't shrink after washing it. However, when quilting, some prefer to wash their completed project as it can give the blanket a "crinkly' or 'snuggly' look. For most of my patterns, I don't prewash my fabric before sewing. But this is totally up to your personal preferance!
Can I sell items made from your sewing patterns?
Yes! You’re welcome to sell finished products made using my PDF sewing patterns on a small, handmade scale. This is perfect if you’re running a small shop or testing out selling your work. The only restriction is that the pattern itself cannot be copied, shared, or resold.
Do you offer support for your sewing patterns?
Yes! If you have questions while working through one of my sewing patterns, I’m here to help. Whether you’re stuck on a step or just need clarification, feel free to reach out so you can keep your project moving forward with confidence.
